# Launch

`launch` runs build and deploy in one command. It reads the lifecycle config, runs `build`, then runs `deploy` if the build succeeds, making it the normal command for publishing a new project or updated code.

Run in a project containing the lifecycle file `agentkit.yaml`. Configure the provider, region, and runtime environment variables using the [Quickstart](/productions/agentkit-cli/preview/en/quickstart); `local` and `hybrid` also require local Docker

<Warning>
  Cloud publication builds an image and creates or updates a runtime, potentially incurring build, storage, and runtime charges. Check the target project and release timing for an existing service

## launch

| Flag / Argument | Description | Default |
| - | - | - |
| `--config-file <path>` | Lifecycle config file path. | `agentkit.yaml` |
| `--platform <platform>` | Build platform; `auto` lets the CLI choose. | `auto` |
| `--preflight-mode <mode>` | Preflight behavior: `prompt`, `fail`, `warn`, or `skip`. | Global `defaults.preflight_mode`, or `prompt` when unset |

```bash lines theme={null}
agentkit launch --config-file agentkit.yaml --preflight-mode fail
```

`prompt` asks before continuing in an interactive terminal; `fail` exits when preflight checks fail; `warn` prints warnings and continues; `skip` disables preflight checks.

Verify the application after publication:

```bash lines theme={null}
agentkit status
agentkit invoke run "hello"
```

Use `--preflight-mode fail` for unattended publication. `warn` and `skip` do not grant missing service permissions, so a later build or deployment can still fail
