# Overview

VeADK Go `v1.0.1` is a historical release from the `release/v1` maintenance line. Its module path is `github.com/volcengine/veadk-go` and it depends on `google.golang.org/adk`. Use this documentation for existing V1 projects. New projects that need V2 capabilities should use the VeADK Go Preview documentation.

## Use Cases

* Existing Go projects already depend on `github.com/volcengine/veadk-go` and need to pin `v1.0.1`.
* You use ADK v1 launcher, runner, session, memory, and tool APIs.
* You need V1 model defaults, built-in tools, knowledge base, sessions, long-term memory, observability, or AgentKit Server App integration.
* You are not ready to migrate to `github.com/volcengine/veadk-go/v2`.

## Core Modules

| Module | Purpose |

| `agent/llmagent` | Creates VeADK LLM agents and adds model defaults, PromptManager, Skills discovery, and knowledge-base tool injection. |
| `google.golang.org/adk/runner` | Runs agents directly in Go code. V1 uses the ADK runner rather than a separate VeADK runner package. |
| `apps` | Runs simple app, A2A app, and AgentKit Server App entry points. |
| `tool/builtin_tools` | Provides Web Search, Web Fetch, Link Reader, MCP Router, media generation, Code Sandbox, Skills, and other built-in tools. |
| `memory` | Creates short-term session services and long-term memory services. |
| `knowledgebase` | Creates Local, Viking, OpenSearch, Redis, and other knowledge-base backends and injects retrieval tools. |
| `observability` | Integrates OpenTelemetry plugins and exporter configuration. |
